Lagan Construction Group visit Countess Wear Community School in Exeter

31 Mar 2016

As part of Lagan Construction Group’s commitment to communities in which we work, representatives from Lagan Construction Group recently visited Countess Wear Community School in Exeter, Devon to deliver a presentation to the pupils, making them aware of the construction work that is going on in their area and the dangers of playing near construction sites.

Lagan Construction Group are currently delivering the Bridge Road Widening Scheme in Exeter on behalf of Devon County Council. The scheme will develop two continuous outbound lanes from Countess Wear to the Matford roundabout on one of the busiest routes into the city. The current outbound section which merges from two lanes into one currently creates a bottleneck on the A379 corridor, leading to queuing at Countess Wear roundabout and its approach roads. The 14-month scheme commenced in February and throughout March, April and May, the east side of the Countess Wear Flood Relief structure will be removed and rebuilt to accommodate the widened road alignment.

Lagan Construction Group donated some Hi-Vis vests to Countess Wear Community School, for their use whilst participating in outdoor activities.
