History

Formed in 2001. Nurtured and developed constantly since then.

Lagan Operations & Maintenance Ltd provides operations and maintenance services. Initially, these services were provided to Public Private Partnership Projects, but we have expanded since then.

We now provide services including maintenance of roads, highways, buildings, small scale civil engineering works; building works and specialist material supply related to maintenance projects. Our aim is to offer a complete maintenance and management service to our clients across the life of their infrastructure.

2001

Lagan Projects Ltd formed

Established to provide Finance solutions and Bid Management to successfully secure PPP/PFI/DBFO projects.

2003

Secured first PPP Project

Fermoy By Pass Cork – 17.5 km of new dual carriageway motorway including push launch bridge across the River Blackwater. Future projects also secured include Limerick Tunnel and DBFO2.

2006

Commenced first O&M project

Began work on the Fermoy Bypass once the road opened at the start of October 2006. We have been successfully operating it since.

2010

Limerick Tunnel O&M commenced

700 m of immersed tube tunnel, 10 km of dual carriageway and 2 km of single carriageway national road. Includes full tunnel maintenance of all M&E and ITS systems. We have been successfully operating it since.

2013

Company rebrand

We rebranded as Lagan Operations & Maintenance Ltd. Secured the MMaRC contract in JV – 330 km of dual carriageway motorway & national roads from Co Laois South to Cork in the South, Cork City environs and Kilkenny and Waterford in the Southeast.

2014

Vehicle Restraint Systems Services

Initially providing barrier and parapet works for maintenance operators and contractors, the business has grown to provide VRS on two National Frameworks in Ireland for Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Local Authorities.

2015

Electrical & Traffic Management

Electrical Services and Traffic Management Services formalised into delivery units to consolidate those services we were providing to our maintenance operations. We provide Electrical services across the Island of Ireland and Traffic Management to the Island of Ireland and England.

2017

Gort to Tuam motorway, Galway

A further 52 km of dual carriageway motorway added to our Operations & Maintenance Portfolio, in JV, with the opening of the Gort to Tuam motorway in Galway in September 2017.

2019

Re-secured MMaRC G2

The project was re-secured as MMaRC G2 in 2019 and is now 360 km of dual carriageway motorway & national roads from Co Laois South to Cork in the South, Cork City environs and Kilkenny and Waterford in the Southeast.

2023

Energy & Renewables Services

Energy & Renewables service established to provide much needed solutions to the marketplace. Secured the Western Region Maintenance Framework for Transport Infrastructure Ireland providing safety patrols, full maintenance & renewal of VRS in the largest of the 3 regions on the framework.
